An oil change process is usually quick and can take anywhere between 20-45 minutes. Part of the time spend is doing the routine maintenance things that make sense to do while you are at it.

You have to open the car oil drain plug, drain the dirty oil (motor oil), remove the old oil filter and replace it with a new oil filter,  and refill new oil and check the oil level.

A lot of the time spent is waiting for the oil to drain out.

After changing your car’s oil, your technician will usually also inspect your car’s engine to ensure that everything is okay. This can add to the duration it takes, but is usually no more than 10-15 minutes.
